Eligibility for Medical Visa from Burkina Faso to India

·         India Medical visa is granted to those who require higher medical treatment.

·         Patients should seek treatment only at a recognised/reputed/specialised hospital/healthcare centre in India.

·         Two medical attendants can accompany a patient in India Medical attendant visa from Burkina Faso. They can be his/her family members or close associates.

 

 India Medical Visa Requirements – Burkina Faso

Medical Visa 

The High Commission of India switched-over to Online Visa Application Filing for all applicants and all visa types w.e.f. 12th June 2012. Manually filled-in visa applications are no longer accepted.

All visa applicants must complete the Online Visa Application Registration Form available on

Eligibility:

·         Foreigners visiting India for the sole purpose of seeking medical treatment in hospitals / treatment centres in India

Validity:

For the period of treatment or up to 1 year, whichever is less

Documents:

·         Passport

·         Confirmation from hospital / treatment centre in India

·         Reference from local doctor / hospital

·         Proof of finance

A Medical Attendant Visa can be granted to up to two attendants who intend to accompany the person granted the medical visa. Attendants should be spouse/children or those having blood relations with the patient. Medical Attendant visas will have the same validity as the Medical visa.

All requirements of medical visa will apply to medical attendant visa. The initial duration of the visa is up to a year or the period of the treatment, whichever is less. The visa will be valid for a maximum of 3 entries during the 1 year.

 

Requirement for Medical Visa:

·          Copy of preliminary medical advice stating that applicant needs specialized treatment and has been referred to hospital in India. Or

·          Copy of letter of appointment with doctor in some recognized medical institution in India.

·          Documentary proof of his financial standing.

·          Attendant/family members escorting patient to India for medical treatment are granted medical attendant visa co-terminus with medical visa of the patient. Maximum two persons can accompany the patient as attendant/escort. Patient is issued Medical Visa while accompanying persons are issued Medical Escort Visa. Fee for both are same.

·          

Please note the following when applying for a visa:

·         Passport valid for minimum 6 months beyond the date of intended   departure from India. The visa validity period may not extend beyond the passport’s validity expiry date.

·         Visitors to India should hold a valid yellow fever certificate. Vaccination should have been taken at least 14 days before the date of travel

·         The Applicant should personally sign the application at the two designated places.

·         Application forms should be filled completely, correctly and legibly; incomplete and illegible forms may not be entertained.

·         Applications for minors should be accompanied by the original and of the Birth Certificate of the minor and consent letter signed by BOTH parents, along with original IDs of the parents.

 

Indian Medical Visa Processing Fee

All nationals applying for Indian Visa at the High Commission of India, Accra (BURKINA FASO) are required to complete and register the Online Visa Application Registration Form available on Website: http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ and then submit the printed copy of the registered applications, along with passports, photographs, and supporting documents at the High Commission in Accra, and also make payment of the required visa fees. Please note that payment of visa fees is accepted by the High Commission only in CASH (Burkina Faso Currrency). The High Commission in Accra does not accept payment of visa or any other consular fees by any other means such as credit/debit card, online bank transfer, by cheque, etc.

Yellow Fever and Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV)

The Yellow Fever and Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV) are mandatory for all the visitors (including patients), of all nationalities, travelling to India from the countries of accreditation of this Mission i.e. Burkina Faso. The Yellow Fever medicines should be administered at least 10 days and OPV at least 4 weeks prior to traveling India through a Government approved medical clinic, Institute or hospital. The certificates of Yellow Fever and Polio Vaccination should be carried along with the other immigration documents. This is a mandatory requirement as per the Government of India’s regulations.


Covid-19: Quarantine Not Mandatory

There will be a new traveling regulation by 2021. Under this new regulation:

  • Incoming tourists who can provide a negative PCR test taken not later than 72 hours before entering India will be exempted from observing a quarantine period.
  • All incoming tourists will now have to declare that they are not infected by signing an affidavit.
  • Tourists must agree to all health screening given to them, especially the infrared temperature checks.

Also, The Delhi-airport is equipped with a testing facility. Test results from this facility will be available within 4- 5 hours. You will be required to pay for the test.
